The Chitwan National Park animals and birds include around 68 species of mammals such as One Horned Rhino and Royal Bengal Tiger, birds such as slender billed babblers, grey-crowned prinia, Swamp francolin and so on.

The average distance from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park is 158.7km via East-West Highway (5 hours 33 minutes) and 170.4km via Prithvi Highway (5 hours 56 minutes). The best time to visit Chitwan National Park is from October to March when skies are clear and temperature is mildly 25oC and the best time to observe animals is late January to March when the villagers cut down phanta grasses for improving the visibility.
