Phulchowki (2,782m), the highest hill around the Kathmandu Valley, is located to the south and is renowned for its lush vegetation, making it one of the most beautiful hiking spots in the area. The name Phulchowki aptly means 'Hill of Flowers'!
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we'll embark on a 30-minute drive, covering 14 km to reach Godavari, home to the Royal Botanical Garden. This area is rich in native bird and flower species, offering a delightful start to our journey.
Our hike begins from Godavari, with a gradual ascent through a dense subtropical forest that takes about four hours. Upon reaching the summit of Phulchowki, you'll be greeted by stunning views that stretch from the eastern part of the Annapurna range to Gaurishanker on a clear day. The panoramic vistas of the Kathmandu Valley are perfect for capturing memorable photos.
After lunch and some time to explore, we'll retrace our steps back to Godavari, a descent that takes about two hours. From there, we'll drive back to Kathmandu, completing this rewarding day hike.

Your adventure begins and ends in Kathmandu with a 1-day hiking and trekking tour from Godawari to Phulchowki. After breakfast at the hotel, we drive 14 km south of Kathmandu, a journey of about 30 minutes, to reach Godawari, home to the Royal Botanical Garden. This area is rich in native bird and flower species, making it an ideal starting point.
From Godawari, we start our hike, which takes us gradually uphill through a lush subtropical forest. After about four hours of trekking, we reach Phulchowki, the highest hill in the Kathmandu Valley at 2,782 meters. On a clear day, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views stretching from the eastern Annapurna range to Gaurishanker. The panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley is equally stunning, providing perfect photo opportunities.
After enjoying lunch and some time to explore, we descend along the same trail, taking about two hours to return to Godawari. From there, we drive back to Kathmandu, concluding your memorable day hike.
