Take on one of Ecuador’s ultimate mountaineering challenges by summiting Cotopaxi (5,897 m) and Chimborazo (6,263 m) in just five days. With certified guides and stunning Andean scenery.
Throughout the journey, you’ll cross stunning glaciers and enjoy breathtaking high-altitude landscapes. Designed for adventurous and well-prepared climbers, this program offers the perfect blend of challenge, safety, and unforgettable Andean scenery.
Please note: Participants must demonstrate previous mountaineering experience by having successfully climbed at least three mountains before joining this expedition.

We will leave from Quito in the morning and drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until we get to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance. From here we will drive east to the Cotopaxi parking lot (14,764ft/4.500m). We get our gear ready and hike up for an hour to the José Ribas Refuge (15,958ft/4.864m). In the afternoon we will talk and learn some basic techniques, which includes last but not least proper handling of the climbing equipment (crampons, ice axe, rope, etc). We will have dinner at the Refuge and go to rest.
Please note: At the base camps or high camps, accommodation consists of a sleeping mat or bed in a shared area.

When traveling on your own, some daily excursions may be private, while on other days you may share activities with other travelers. This blend of private and shared experiences adds variety to the itinerary, making each part of the journey authentic, dynamic, and truly unique.
