Tour description

Day 1. We depart from Trebinje and travel to Tvrdos to explore its Serbian Orthodox monastery, originally founded in the 15th century. At the Tvrdos winery we enjoy a tasting of their excellent red wines, particularly the local Vranec variety, known for its deep color and robust body. We then continue to the fascinating Vjetrenica cave system (UNESCO World Heritage Site), renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and spectacular underground formations. Our journey proceeds to the iconic city of Mostar to explore its famous historical center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and admire the reconstructed 16th‑century Stari Most (Old Bridge), a powerful symbol of reconciliation. We will stay overnight in Mostar.

Day 2. After staying in Mostar, we take a short drive to Blagaj to visit the stunning Dervish monastery (Tekija) (UNESCO Tentative List Site), a 16th‑century Sufi (Islamic) retreat dramatically built at the source of the emerald Buna River. We then travel to the enchanting Ottoman‑era hill town of Pocitelj (UNESCO Tentative List Site), renowned for its beautifully preserved stone architecture and panoramic views. Our day concludes at Podrumi Andrija, a family‑owned winery where we sample their premium white wines, including Zilavka, a crisp Herzegovinian varietal with floral and fruit notes. After that, we will return to Mostar for accommodation.

Day 3. After 2 nights in Mostar, we travel to Medjugorje, a world‑famous Roman Catholic pilgrimage center that has attracted millions of visitors since reported apparitions began in 1981. We then travel to Radimlja to see the remarkable medieval stecci (tombstone) necropolis (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the 15th‑16th centuries. Our final stop is Stolac to admire its ancient hilltop fortress (UNESCO Tentative List Site), with origins dating to the 5th century. Finally, we return to Trebinje, where our memorable journey concludes.
